How We Support
We aim to provide elderly aged care residents with significant social interactions that help them regain their sense of belonging and worth in society.
Our program involves recruiting, training, and assisting compassionate volunteers who serve as companions to residents in nearby aged care facilities.
The value of companions cannot be overstated, as it offers a vital connection to the outside world and a chance the elderly to feel heard, respected, and enjoy a good laugh.

Why We Support
Loneliness is a modern-day epidemic, affecting the most vulnerable individuals the most. However, it can be easily remedied through acts of kindness, empathy, and spending time with others.
Studies show that a significant percentage of permanent aged care residents experience symptoms of depression, while those living in the wider community have a lower rate.
Regular visits from volunteers can greatly improve the quality of life for those experiencing isolation and loneliness.

How You Can Support
ACVA relies on the support of its amazing volunteers and generous donors to continue its operations.
There are various volunteering opportunities available, ranging from providing companionship to residents to administrative, marketing, digital, and event roles. If you're interested in joining us, we would be delighted to hear from you!
As a non-profit organization, we depend on private and corporate donations to train and provide continuous support to our volunteers, to ensure that aged care residents receive the best possible care.
